the mad scientist

I had forgotten taking these photos until they came into my editing queue, and when I saw them I started laughing out loud!  I took them just for fun during this shoot.  I knew as soon as I saw them that they needed to be edited and that they should have their own blog post.  Here’s to spontaneous fun!

It seems like every person I photograph has a story…this little guy arrived 2 months early and spent the first month of his life in a hospital.  I was amazed at how well his mom kept everything together, taking care of her new baby in a hospital while also taking care of her husband and older sons.  I am so thankful to know this great family!  I was honored to take photos of him and his brothers.  They are so fun!  Here is a little preview for you…

just for fun

I took these up the canyon today, not planned, just for fun.  I should have used a much narrower aperture to catch the sun flare on the landscape, though.  Oh, well!

I have been so lucky to be surrounded by very supportive people.  The B family is no exception!  When I started learning about portrait photography, I decided I needed to practice on someone other than my own family (i.e., a family that has male children).  The B family came to mind, so I asked Mrs. B if I could take some portraits of her sons.  She agreed and we had a fun photoshoot that involved dirt bikes in their garage.  It was great.  A few weeks ago, Mrs. B asked me to take some family portraits for them, which I was delighted to do.  They are an exceptional family!  They are kind to each other and respectful to those around them.  They’re fantastic people…I love to be around them!  We had such a fun time with their family portrait session.  They had ideas of what they wanted to do, but were flexible at the same time.  It was a blast!  I am so happy with how their portraits have turned out!  Here is a little preview for you, B family!

***disclaimer–I am not liable for injuries caused by teenage and tween girls swooning.  I am serious.  These are some good looking boys!  Their parents aren’t too bad, either.  Is it fair for a family to be so good looking?  In this case, I definitely think so!***
