Spring and the beginning of summer bring so many changes…new plants peeking through the ground, beautiful flowers blooming, and a new crop of high school graduates, ready for their post-high-school-life to start!  I met with Miss M back in February to do a photo session in the middle of a bleak and very long winter.  A few weeks ago she decided she wanted some spring portraits as well, so we got together to take some photos of her in the spring weather.  The clouds were threatening a downpour at any minute throughout the shoot, but we managed to finish up just as the first drops began to fall.  She wanted some photos in her cap and gown, so we headed over to the high school (which is my alma mater as well as hers) to get some parting evidence of her life there.  Ahhh, the memories!  She’s ready to move on though.  And I know she will succeed in anything she puts her mind to!

As a side note, I tried a little bit of a different editing technique with these and pulled back on the colors quite a bit.  A definite departure from what I have usually done, but I like the result!  I hope you all do, too.

I think this is one of my favorite portrait shoots.  Ever.  I met Miss K, her mom, and her friend, A, at our location (which is one of my favorite locations to shoot at) on a Friday evening in April.  It had been raining (a lot), and cold (really), so we were all very happy that we could wander around with light jackets instead of ski parkas or ponchos, that there wasn’t snow on the ground, and that the sun was shining just enough.  Miss K is a delight to be around.  She is very mature, has a dry sense of humor, and really seems to enjoy life.  Miss K is one of those seniors who is ready for college…and I know she will enjoy it!

So here is a sneak peek into Miss K’s senior portrait session.  It was very very fun and the results are fantastic (even if I do say so myself!)  Congratulations on graduating Miss K!  I know you will find success in college and beyond!

It was a cold winter day when I met Miss M and her fabulous mom at a nearby college campus to shoot some senior portraits.  Miss M is one of those seniors who is ready for college.  She’s smart, mature and good natured.  She’s also a lot of fun!  We had such a great time hiking around the campus…luckily it was pretty quiet.  Here are a few of the resulting shots:

I tried a new action on a couple of the color shots…it worked with some, but not with others.  Overall, I think I prefer my old method, but am not ruling the new one out, either!

Miss H is a unique individual.  It is very difficult for her NOT to smile.  Her mom and I had a fun time laughing at her attempts to keep a serious expression.  She did get the hang of it eventually, though.  She’s just such a naturally happy person, that it is very natural for her to smile and laugh. Enjoy!

To say that I had a hard time choosing favorite photos for this preview would be an understatement!  I really don’t have much to say about these.  I am so happy with how they turned out.  A big thanks to my neighbors, Rich and Tania, for letting us use their gorgeous home as one of our locations.

And a big thank you to Miss M and her parents for allowing me to take her senior photos!  I hope you like them!
